Its feast is October 12, is the patron saint of Spain and Zaragoza, city where according to tradition, the Virgin Mary appeared to the Apostle Santiago when he was resting on the banks of the river Ebro. To commemorate the apparition was erected a temple known as the first basilica dedicated to the Virgin.
